Computer Emergency Response Team --This term was chosen for the first team, founded in December 1988 at the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (Pittsburgh, PA) by ARPA. Although the team was officially called CERT/CC, now CERT Coordination Center many users simply think of this team as "the" CERT.
