A controller 'instrument' which is woodwind-like or brass-like in it's fingering. They are blown into and the air stream triggers sounds from a synthesizer or tone module. Many do not have sounds of their own and must be connected (through Midi) to a synthesizer or tone module. They will play whatever sound is called up on the connected synthesizer.
