Leveraging Ratio

The proportion of grant funds to funds or non-cash donations from other sources. For example, a leveraging ratio of 1:1 means that for every grant dollar awarded to a project, the grantee will secure one dollar from another source. The term implies that grant dollars are used to "leverage" other dollars. See Matching Funds.
