Much like a debit card in size and purpose, but these cards store an amount of money digital within an embedded chip. Some have a fintie amount (like phone cards) others can be loaded-up with more money from a bank account (like Mondex' trial cards). The hope is that smart cards will make ecommerce as common as cash transactions are.
