A grouping of frequencies in the audible frequency spectrum. The frequency spectrum can be divided up into many, many bands or a few bands depending on the purpose for the division. Typical frequency bands are bass, mid-bass, mid-range and treble or high frequencies. Equalizers group the frequency spectrum into bands of various sizes and then use electronic adjustment to modify those bands by increasing or decreasing their power to achieve a reasonably flat frequency response.
