Dual Side Play

A feature found on certain laserdisc players allowing the playback of both sides of a laserdisc without requiring the viewer to physically flip the disc. Using this feature, the laserdisc player flips the laser beam assembly itself to read the other side of the disc. ost laserdiscs have information recorded on both sides. Without dual-side play, a viewer must get up and turn over a laserdisc. This is similar to reading a book page. There is text on both sides so when you finish reading one side you have to flip the page to read the other side. Dual-side play enables the viewer to remain seated while the laserdisc player’s laser is flipped so the disc itself can be read on the other side. This is similar to if your book page automatically turned for you as you finished reading the page.
