In wall Speaker

A speaker that is installed in the wall connecting to the studs and typically using the wall as the speaker enclosure in order to create sound in a room with the minimal amount of physical presence dedicated to the speaker itself. In-wall speakers are often used for mood music or ambience to distribute sound throughout a house or building. These speakers are custom installed and built into the wall itself. Most in-walls use the wall cavity as the speaker enclosure although some have their own enclosure that is also built into the wall. he primary advantage of these speakers is their ability to blend in and go unseen taking up no floor space and not detracting from the environment in the room. The primary disadvantage of in-wall speakers is that they generally do not produce sound of as high a quality as their counterparts outside the wall. The walls tend to discolor the sound since drywall (sheet rock) is not as inert and solid as a typical speaker enclosure. Additionally, most in-wall speakers tend to be mounted toward the ceiling creating problems with reflections and imaging. In-wall speakers should for the most part be used to provide music in non-critical audio environments where their advantages of unobtrusiveness and style are important.
