Light Valve Projector

Form of front projection device that provides vastly superior light output compared to a CRT projector with superior picture quality. Light valve projectors are able to project images onto screens 12 feet and larger in normal room lighting (something other projectors cannot do and still offer a satisfying picture that is easily visible). They can project HDTV resolution signals or better with excellent color accuracy and detail. However, light valve projectors are extremely expensive and produced in very limited numbers primarily for commercial use with large audiences.
