Low Pass Crossover

Type of crossover that only allows low frequencies to pass cutting off or attenuating frequencies above the crossover point (crossover frequency). A low-pass crossover splits a signal into two pieces and passes along only that part of the signal that is lower than the cutoff point. ow-pass crossover are used frequently to pass bass information on to a subwoofer while preventing that bass information from being presented to a speaker not proficient with low frequency output. Most subwoofers use a low-pass crossover to bring in bass information and combine it with a high pass crossover to move high frequencies out to another set of speakers. A low-pass crossover works similar to a limbo stick, only low things can go through.
