PIP

Picture in Picture

Feature found on televisions allowing one program to be viewed on the entire screen while one or more programs play in small windows superimposed over the base program. PIP allows users to stay on a particular station watching that program while also searching through other channels to see if there is something else of interest. or picture-in-picture to work, a user needs two tuners. Some televisions with PIP come with two tuners (one for the PIP window program and one for the main program filling the screen), while others rely on an external tuner from a VCR or other device to supply programming to the picture-in-picture window.
