Third-person

In literature, a type of narration in which the narrator does not appear as a character in the narrative. Third-person narration often includes a degree of filter, which limits the narrator's knowledge or perspective to that of one (or more) character(s). By definition, third-person narration may be authorial, but it is always impersonal rather than personal.
