Gas Lift

A method of artificial lift in which the energy of compressed gas entrained within a column of liquid is used to lift the fluid to the surface. This process of producing fluids from a well incorporates the continuous or intermittent injection of gas through the tubing or the tubing casing annulus to a point below the liquid level in the wellbore. The injected gas aerates the fluid to reduce the exerted pressure at the formation consequently allowing fluids to flow from the formation.
