Dielectric Feed

The dielectric feed is a recently introduced innovation and a viable wideband alternative to a conventional scalar feed. It is essentially a microwave lens designed to have a radiation pattern with relatively sharp edges that inserts directly into the mouth of a waveguide at the entrance to the LNB. This improvement in dish illumination and a better balancing of the E and H-fields result in an increase in system efficiency from typically 60% to 80%. This translates into the need for a dish with 25 2.306125e-82ss surface area.
