Anisotropic

1. General: possessing different physical properties in different directions 2. General: having physical properties that depend on direction 3.Minerals or parts of soils: alternately bright and dark between crossed polars when the microscope stage is rotated. The bright position is due to the formation of interference colors. See INTERFERENCE COLOURS.
