Coniferous Forest

A forest consisting of predominantly cone-bearing trees with needle shaped leaves: usually evergreen but some are deciduous, for example the larch forests(Larix dehurica) of central Siberia. Their greatest extent is in the wide belt across northern Canada and northern Eurasia. Coniferous forests produce soft wood which has a large number of industrial applications including paper making.
