Efficiency

Efficiency for a turbine describes the amount of active electrical power generated as a percentage of the wind power incident on the rotor area.


In general of any component, this describes the amount of energy coming out of the component as a percentage of the energy put into it. For a WT, it describes the amount of active electrical power generated as a percentage of the wind power incident on the rotor area (see also Betz Limit).
