Nitrogen Oxide

(NOx) According to the United Nations (2002), NOx is a “product of combustion from transportation and stationary sources. It is a major contributor to acid depositions and the formation of ground-level ozone in the troposphere. It is formed by combustion under high pressure and high temperature in an internal combustion engine. It changes into nitrogen dioxide in the ambient air and contributes to photochemical smog”.
