Shaft Brake

A braking mechanism to stop the rotation of the WT by arresting the motion of one of the shafts in the WT. As the high speed shaft has much lower torque, a lighter and cheaper brake can be used if it is positioned on this shaft. However, should the gearbox fail, the highspeed shaft brake will be unable to stop the WT rotor.
