Spume

Small particles of metal ejected from the welding "vee" during the high frequency induction welding operation as a result of electromagnetic forces produced by the weld current. Spume tends to take the form of very small, spherical particles of metal and refractory oxides. If spume is deposited on the weld pressure rolls, it can become rolled into the tube surface.
