Glossary Cycling / Term

Pinch flat

This refers to when you get a flat tire from the tube inside the tire getting stuck between the rubber tire and the metal rim and punctures.

The best way to avoid a pinch flat

Double-check the edges of the rim when you change your tire to make sure you can’t see the tube. If you can see it, it’ll likely get pinched and go flat.
