Glossary Electromobility / Term

End Consumer

The person who buys the energy for their own consumption. In terms of Electromobility, 3 types of end consumers can be distinguished:

  • Users of a household connection: If the connection user is themself not an operator of the charging point for electric vehicles (EV) and only provides the electricity for example as per credit note, then there is no energy supply of the charging point or vehicle. Pre-requisite: The charging point is operated before the relevant energy payment point.
  • Charging point operators: The charging point operator is also the connector user. The energy economy value chain ends at the charging point, i.e. the vehicles are supplied with energy but are not supplied in the energy economy sense. According to this, the measuring point for the vehicle is obligatory, but no measurement of performance-based electricity is carried out according to MsbG.
  • Vehicle operators: The energy economy value chain extends into the vehicle, which means that the measuring point for the vehicle can be described as an energy economy measuring point according to MsbG.

The end consumer can be a natural or legal person.
