Tundish

The tundish is a safety device which is connected to the discharge pipework of a hot water cylinder which provides an air gap to allow for a visual inspection. When water is being discharged through the tundish it is a visual aid to show that the system requires attention by a qualified and competent person such as a heating engineer. The tundish also provides an alternative escape route for the water if the discharge pipe freezes or becomes blocked.
