Zero carbon

According to the Code for Sustainable Homes, a zero carbon home achieves zero net emissions of CO2 from all energy used in the home, including televisions, kitchen appliances, stereos, mobile phones and computers. The aim is to reduce carbon emissions, to build houses that are better able to cope with climate change and have a reduced impact on the environment. Any carbon taken from the national grid would have to be replaced by low carbon or zero carbon generated energy so that over a year the net emissions are zero.
