SLIP

The serial line Internet protocol is a common way of accessing the Net via a dial-up connection.


Serial Line Internet Protocol; A communications standard by which a computer can perform IP addressing over a telephone line. Elder (and uglier) brother to PPP. See also IP address and PPP.


(Abbreviation for Serial Line Internet Protocol) Serial Line Internet Protocol, basically a standard which enables a user to connect to the internet using a modem a telephone line.
