Tozzetti

These cookies hail from the region of Latium (of which Rome is the capital), but they are also baked in homes and pastry shops in nearby Umbria. Eggs are beaten with sugar, aniseed, white wine (or anise liqueur), and toasted almonds and hazelnuts.
