Uchi Hachiji Dachi

(Inward natural stance) As for soto-hachiji-dachi but feet pointing slightly inwards.

Inverted open leg stance, or inverted figure eight stance. The feet are shoulder width apart but with the feet facing inwards.

In Uchi Hachi Dachi the feet are separated by the distance equivalent to the width of the shoulders, with the tips inwards, at an angle of 45 degrees. The knees are slightly flexed inwards.

It is a very suitable position for beginners because it strengthens the lower half of the body and prepares for more difficult positions, such as the Sanchin Dachi.

Remember that always being in Uchi Hachiji Dachi the weight of the body should be distributed between both feet, never overloading one more than the other.
