Monomeric phase

Refers to a bonded phase in which single molecules are bonded to a Support. For silica gel, monomeric phases are prepared by the reaction of an alkyl or aryl monochlorosilane. Polymeric phases are generally prepared from a di- or trichlorosilane reactant.
