Pitch

Position of a tone on a scale from high to low; the frequency of vibrations creating a sound wave. High pitch is high frequency sound while low pitch is low frequency sound. n music, pitch is measured in absolute and relative terms with seven absolute pitches and eight relative pitches for each absolute pitch. The absolute pitches are represented by the first seven letters of the alphabet – A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. The relative pitches are a series of tones from 1 to 8 beginning at the absolute pitch to which they are relative. One begins on an absolute pitch and eight ends on the next higher absolute pitch (so the eight of A is also the one of B for instance).
