SIMD

Single Instruction Multiple Data: a method of efficiently processing data in which a single instruction is applied to multiple pieces of data simultaneously rather than to each piece of data individually. Repetitive tasks are effectively consolidated into a single one, greatly increasing the speed of data processing. Instructions of this nature are often associated with 3D graphics and multimedia.
