Narration

(1) The sum of narrative strategies by which the narrative is presented and received, including the choice of narrator, order of events, method of narration, etc. (also called enunciation by McFarlane); (2) the specific and identifiable act of narration itself, as it occurs in a set time and place and occurs via some mode of communication.
