Thalamus

The part of the brain through which almost all sensory information goes on its way to the cerebrum.


An egg-shaped structure above the brain stem that applies more filtering to the sensory information that is coming up from the spinal cord and through the reticular formation, and relays some of these remaining signals to the higher brain levels.
