A shot used in defense OR offense to change the tempo of a point. It is primarily hit with a lot of height to get an opponent off the net, change the pace of a point or give yourself time to get back into position. It can be hit off a groundstroke or volley.

A tennis shot where the ball is lifted high above the net. Can be a defensive shot in some cases, but also may cause a winner when the ball is just out of reach of the opponent, but still lands in play.
