Outside hitter

The outside hitter usually attacks from the left side of the net and is a focal point of the offense. They have to be able to adjust to sets coming from all locations and hit from the front and back rows. They also have to receive the serve defensively and have good back row skills so that they can remain in the game for all rotations. They also work with the middle hitter/blocker in blocking opponents’ shots.
