Capacity Factor

The amount of energy a WT actually produces in a year, divided by the amount of energy if could theoretically produce if it were to run at its rated power 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The capacity factor is expressed as a percentage; for a typical WT installation it is around 25%-30% (although it can get up to 50%).
