Audio component that accepts standard audiotape cassettes from which it reads information or to which it records information. Cassette decks use magnetic heads to read the magnetic tapes of audiocassettes and record to those same tapes. The head is sensitive to the magnetic patterns on a tape so that it can reproduce sound from those patterns.
