V/H Switched Polarizer

Solid state selection is electronic switching between two probes that are mounted within circular waveguide. One probe detects horizontally and the other vertically polarized signals.V/H switched polarizer is not as popular as other selection methods in situations where numerous satellites over the full extent of the geosynchronous arc will be detected. In that case fine fine tuning of polarity, skew control, is not possible since only two fixed directions of polarity, based on the orientation of two probes, can be selected. Such "solid state probe selection polarizers" also tend to somewhat more noisy than mechanical or ferrite methods.itching between the two probes, vertical and horizontal, is effected by changing the supply voltage on the center conductor of the cable feeding the LNB. A pin diode may be switched by an LNB voltage of, for example, 13 volts for one direction of polarity and 17 volts for the other.
